Local top chefs and farmers present
dishes to entice the palate

Food creates powerful connections. The creativity of those ties were in evidence on Oct. 26, at Capital District Community Gardens’ second annual “An Autumn Evening in the Garden.”

At the event, top chefs paired with local farmers to form community relationships and create mouthwatering dishes. Attendees of the event were able to sample various fresh meats, cheeses and produce while learning more about the benefits of locally grown foods and helping to support Capital District Community Gardens’ programs.

Capital District Community Gardens is very grateful to Chef Larry Schepici of Tosca for hosting the event as well as to all participating chefs and farmers. Participating chefs: Chef Michael Cohen — Chez Mike; Master Chef Luc Pasquier — Jack’s Oyster House; Chef John Marzilli — Salty’s Pub and Bistro; Chef Mark Graham — MezzaNotte; Chef Yono Purnomo — Yono’s; Chef Mike Nicoli — The Century House Restaurant; Master Chef Swen Boehm — EATS Gourmet Marketplace; Chef Dominique Brialy — The Epicurean; Chef Brenda Jean — MJ’s on the Avenue; Chef Beth Duval — Illium Café; Chef Paul Dolan — Capital Region BOCES; Chef Brian Palazzolo — Classe Catering; Chef AJ Jayapal — Albany Country Club; Chef Jennifer Hewes — Café Madion; and Chef Larry Schepici — Tosca.

Exquisite desserts were provided by Crisan Bakery and Edible Art Gallery; spirits were provided by Franklin’s Tower; wine by Cascade Mountain Winery and Brookview Station Winery; dance by Lorraine Michaels Dance Studio; and music by Neil Brown Trio.

We look forward to creating more farm and chef connections at next year’s event.
