**Capital District Community Gardens’ Spring Brunch **

Troy, NY --  The 22nd Annual Capital District Community Gardens Spring Brunch will be held on Sunday, May 3, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Siek Campus Center of Hudson Valley Community College. More than 100 local restaurants will prepare and donate specialty dishes that are among the finest the region has to offer.  The event is open to all members of the public and offers a delicious assortment of ethnic and traditional fare, desserts and breads.

In addition to the varied and flavorful feast, an extensive silent auction will showcase more than 200 items donated by local businesses and individuals including overnight getaways, dining certificates, handcrafted gifts, and gardening items.  Children’s activities, led by the Scotia-Glenville Children’s Museum and students from the Emma Willard School, are also featured throughout the day.

The event has generated a large and loyal community following, typically attracting more than 500 attendees and raising over $40,000. These funds help transform vacant lots into productive neighborhood gardens and support other Capital District Community Gardens efforts to make healthy foods accessible and affordable in our area’s cities.

Advance tickets to the Brunch are $20 for adults and $5 for children under 10 years old.  Tickets may be purchased at the door on the day of the event for $25.  For more information concerning the Spring Brunch, please call Capital District Community Gardens at 274-8685 or visit www.cdcg.org.
