Capital District Community Gardens’ Spring Plant Sale Offers Flowers, Heirloom Vegetables

Troy, NY --  Capital District Community Gardens will hold its annual Spring Plant Sale on Saturday, May 16th from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the 8th Street Community Garden (one block south of Hoosick Street/Route 7) in Troy.

Visitors can choose from the robust assortment of bargain-priced plants in  the organization’s perennial beds, where their herb and perennial selections will be dug up for them to take home. A wide selection of annuals and heirloom vegetable plants will also be available.

All of the proceeds from this sale benefit CDCG’s programs which, in addition to creating and maintaining community gardens, include city tree plantings, hunger assistance, nutrition education, gardening classes, and making affordable fresh produce available to inner city neighborhoods via The Veggie Mobile.
