The Produce Project is
seeking dedicated, hard working high school students to build an organic produce
business from the ground up right here in the heart of Troy.
No
previous farming experience necessary!
We’ll provide training. You provide the creativity, muscle, and dedication.
While you’re at it you’ll earn cash, bring home food you grow, and have a chance
to earn school credit.
What’s in it for me?
Opportunity---how many times have
you heard “it’s not what you know, it’s who you know…” when it comes to getting
a job? The Produce Project gives you the chance to work with many different
kinds of experts and professionals: farmers, entrepreneurs, horticultural
experts, community organizers, scientists, and chefs. They will not only share
their knowledge with you, but they may be able to help you pursue your
educational dreams and get the job you want.
Experience---in the Produce Project
you will learn valuable skills that you can take with you anywhere and
everywhere. Solve problems, build a team and a business, learn how to grow your
own food and prepare meals. Learn what makes a good resume and how to land a job
or even get into college when you thought it could never happen.
Get
healthy, have fun---You will
take home a weekly share of fresh vegetables you grew yourself, you’ll get
outdoors, and you’ll be working hard physically. You will work with other
people your age and probably get to know people you never thought you would.
Earn
school credit while earning cash ---
Enjoy the rewards of working hard by
collecting community service credits and a weekly stipend - money you can save
or spend as you like.
