The
13th Annual Garden Bowl
Saturday
January 30th, 2010
Uncle Sam Lanes,
Troy, NY - 2:00pm-5:00pm
When it's
January in upstate New
York that means it's time to:
1. Hibernate
2. Shovel snow
3. Change the TV channel
4. Go bowling
Go bowling is the
correct answer!
As a
matter of fact, go bowling at The Garden Bowl. Each winter
supporters of CDCG gather at Uncle Sam Lanes in
Troy to raise funds for CDCG's urban greening
and gardening programs. Join us this year!
At our
last Bowl-a-thon, well over 100 bowlers came out for a great time
and to support CDCG. They raised an unprecedented $8,000 which
helped support our greening and growing programs around the Capital
District.

Prizes are
given to all bowlers who raise $30 (minimum of $25 to participate)– and the more you raise the
better the prize choice! We offer great incentive prizes for both
teams and individuals who participate. Special prizes are given for
the top fundraiser and fundraising team, as well as for the highest
bowling scores. The Top Fundraising team (which in the past has
raised $1,000) receives tickets to a
local sporting event.
Teams from past years include:
Architecture +, Troy Schools, Aetna Health Care, Charter One Bank,
Community Resource Federal Credit Union, Department of Environmental
Conservation, IKON,
Jardine Group, Hudson Valley Community College, Matthew Bender Publishing,
Pioneer Savings Bank, and St. Peters Hospital.
Tons of
prizes are all donated by local businesses including: Proctor's,
Honest Weight Food Coop, Bookhouse of Stuyvesant Plaza,
Avenue A, BJ’s, Madison Theater, Hewitt’s
Garden Centers, The Cheesecake Factory, River Rats, Spectrum Theatre, and numerous
area ski centers.
