When it's January in upstate New York that means it's time to:

Go bowling is the correct answer!
As a matter of fact, go bowling at The Garden Bowl. Each winter
supporters of CDCG gather at Uncle Sam Lanes in Troy to raise funds for CDCG's urban
greening and gardening programs. Join us next year!
Past bowlers have included community gardeners and teams from local
businesses and community organizations.

At our last Bowl-a-thon, well over 100 bowlers came out for a great time
and to support CDCG. They raised an unprecedented $6,500, more than double
the funds raised in previous years. Uncle Sam Lanes in Troy hosted the event.
Prizes are given to all bowlers who raise $30 – and the more you
raise the better the prize choice! We offer great incentive prizes for both
teams and individuals who participate. Special prizes are given for the top
fundraiser and fundraising team, as well as for the highest bowling
sources. The Top Fundraising team (which in the past has raised $1,000) receives
a party for 25 at Jillian’s in Albany
or a local sporting event.
Corporate teams from past years include: Aetna Health Care, Charter One
Bank, Community Resource Federal Credit Union, Department of Environmental
Conservation, IKON, Jardine Group, Matthew Bender Publishing, Pioneer
Savings Bank, and St. Peters
Hospital.
Tons of prizes are all donated by local businesses including: Adirondack
Paintball Games, Albany Attack, Bookhouse of Stuyvesant Plaza, Borders,
Boscov’s, Comedy Works, Dicks Sporting Goods, Hewitt’s Garden Centers, Hoyts, River Rats, Spectrum
Theatre, and numerous area ski centers.
