Interested in giving some time to assist Capital District Community Gardens (CDCG) and learn more about the work we do? We welcome interns anytime during the year, and you can come in full or part-time. We ask for a minimum of 12 hours per week to maximize your experience. CDCG welcomes high school, college and graduate students and anyone else who has interest and time to
commit.
Interns are an integral part of the services that we provide and as an intern
you will get to experience all aspects of a nonprofit working environment.
We
are currently seeking interns for unpaid part-time & full-time
internships in the following program areas:
Communications / Marketing / Public Relations:
Assist with event planning, media exposure, and donor development. Help with the
design, writing, and layout of a wide range of materials used in our programs.
Participate in planning and implementation of education and fundraising events.
This is a great fit for communications, marketing or graphic design majors.

Garden Management:
Assist garden
coordinators with garden management, new site development, site design, and
layout. Assist with preparing and maintaining our 44 community gardens. Perform
outreach to educate and attract citizens from an untapped pool of potential
gardeners.

Business:
Assist in the development of a business plan, which will be used
in future initiatives for our Education Center.
Some activities include: researching the regional market, economic and
social factors, competitive environment, long-term opportunities, target
customers, market definition, developing marketing strategies, competitive
analysis and advantages, competitors’ market positions, service pricing,
financial forecast, financing requirements and writing the business plan.
