Weedwacking, Tilling, and More

Howard Stoner has been a community gardener for more than a decade. A bona fide jack-of-all-trades, Howard has a talent with weedwackers, tillers and other tools that has helped keep our equipment running and our gardens functioning.

It is not an exaggeration to say that without Howard's help, we would not have been able to till all of our gardens or provide gardeners with the tools they need to keep the sites looking good all season.

Like other urban dwellers, Howard has found the organization to be a tremendous resource. "I have no idea where I would go to garden if it weren't for Community Gardens. To find land in town, near my home, within walking distance is really a blessing."

Giving of Yourself
Here are just a few stories of people who are having a tremendous impact on our work:

Gleaning and transporting seeds

Building a shed

Helping in the office

Of course, there are lots of ways in addition to these that you help. If you just love to work outside, if you have a particular skill or you just want to help out occasionally with different tasks, please give us a call and we’ll get you involved. We can always use your help.
